Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has issued quit notice to serving governors, national and state assembly members from the southeast geo-political zone who are non members of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

Obiano, who served the notice at APGA Anambra Central Senatorial rerun campaign flag-off in Awka, boasted that none APGA members in Southeast and South South States would no longer win any elective position at local, state or national level given that the people have accepted the party as their identity and medium to carter for their common goals.

He further charged his colleagues—governors of Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia and Imo to decamp to APGA if they wish to retain or aspire to any other political position come 2019 general elections.

The governor, while thanking Anambra for massively voting for APGA during the recently concluded 2017 gubernatorial poll, appealed for their support to deliver the former National Chairman of APGA and Senatorial candidate of the party on January 13 Anambra Central Senatorial rerun, Chief Victor Umeh.

Speaking earlier, Umeh explained that the senatorial election must hold as scheduled despite the recent High Court judgment which ordered INEC and Senate President, Bukola Saraki to issue certificate of return and swear in Donatus Okonkwo as substantive Senator for the zone.

According to Umeh, Okonkwo had nothing to gain pursing the case as it was divinely decided that the election must be conducted with him (Umeh) emerging as winner in order to represent and champion the interest and course of Anambra Central senatorial districts and entire Igbo race. reports that the event graced by APGA faithful from within and outside Anambra State, witnessed official decamping of some members of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) namely; Anayo Nnebe, member representing Awka north and Awka South Federal Constituency at Federal House of Representative; Hon Uche Nsofor, former Anambra State House of Assembly member for Ekwusigo constituency; Yul Edochie and Kenneth Okonkwo, governorship and deputy governorship candidates of Democratic People’s Congress (DPC) on just concluded 2017 governorship elections, amongst others.
