The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dissolved the Anambra State chapter of the party headed by Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu (Obuka Awka).

Nwobu, news48hrs.com recalled emerged as the State Chairman of the party following withdrawal of his closest rival to the poll, Kodilichukwu Okelekwe, who pulled out of the race after disclosing his manifestoes to the party if elected.

Disclosing this in a press release on Tuesday, Kola Ologbondiyan, the newly elected National Publicity Secretary of PDP said that the party decision came to the fore after reviewing “the state of our party in Anambra State.”

He said the Ward Congresses and the Local Government Congresses as declared by the Appeals Committee were upheld but the State Congress would be held at a later date and time to be determined and announced by the National Working Committee.

“The Anambra State Caretaker Committee led by Sir Chukwudi Umeaba, continues to subsist and pilot the affairs of the party in the state until a state congress is held. All members of the party, particularly in Anambra state should be well guided by this resolution,” it added.
