The Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Rita Maduagwu has charged Christians all over the world to use the period of Christmas and New Year festivity to show love, peace and harmony to one another.

Maduagwu in her Christmas message to Anambra people harped on the need for both Christians and non Christians to pursue peace at all time like Jesus Christ, whose birth is being commemorated every December 25.

She also asked Nigerians to always strive for peace and love with one another despite religious and political differences, as well as to shun all actions capable of disrupting the unity of the country.

“Politicians and religious leaders should be more statesman-like, law abiding and place greater interest of the country above all personal interest or sectional interests,” the Speaker added.

The Speaker further implored President Mummadu Buhari to remember the deplorable conditions of federal roads in the Southeast zone in his 2018 New Year broadcast with a view to finding lasting solution to them.
