The leadership tussle rocking the Peoples Democratic Party Anambra State chapter over a decade may not have been led to rest following the emergency of Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu as its new state Chairman.

Nwobu, who is the CEO/MD, Geogold Hotels and Suites LTD Awka, won the election through option A4 after his closet rival, Chief Okelekwe Kodilichukwu stepped down for him.

Other contestants to the Chairmanship position whose whereabouts and status where unknown as at time of conducting the election were Chief Ossy Sam and Mr Ngozi Agudosi.

Kodilichukwu, prior to announcing his withdrawal from the race, said he would commit suicide if PDP under his leadership fails to return the glory of the party in Anambra and Nigeria generally.
Immediately after withdrawal of Kodilichukwu from the election, Chief Shedrack Anakwue, former Chairman of Awka north Local Government Area, urged the 1630 delegates of the party to queue behind Nwobu (option A4) for conduct of the election.

That was despite the fact that Chukwudi Umeagba, Acting Chairman of PDP Anambra state Caretaker Committee and Chairman of the Congress, earlier announced suspension of the exercise over alleged attempt to use fake delegate list for the poll.

Umeagba, while announcing suspension of the congress in the morning of the same date, called on National Congress Committee of PDP to quickly recall Osita Ogbu led Congress Committee and fix another date for it in a bid to forestall possibly breakdown of law and order.

He, however, noted that the event would not affect the PDP national convention scheduled for 9 December, 2017.

Meanwhile, the newly elected PDP State Chairman, Chief Ndubuisi, while extending hands of fellowship to other contestants, said he has a magic wand to reposition the PDP and bring back all warring parties together for greater.

“The processes started at normal at the ward level where the ward executives and congress delegates were elected. But when it got to the local government level the man to conduct it ran to unknown place.

“Be it as it may, the election was conducted and people emerged at the local government level. The three elected delegates and newly elected Chairman and Secretary of each ward further came and participated at the state level where I won”.

He is the former President, Awka Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), former state Chairman, Anambra Table Tennis Association (ATTA).
