IGP vows to track down perpetrators of Numan Attack

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris said a 320-strong security team has been drafted to Numan local government of Adamawa state to track down perpetrators of the Fulani herdsmen/farmers clash.
Idris disclosed this at an official visit he paid the traditional ruler of Bachama, Homun Irmiya, where he commiserated with him and the people of the state.
The clash claimed more than 30 lives.
IGP Idris assured that the force headquarters would assist the communities with investigative team to bring the perpetrators of the clash to book.
According to him, more security personnel had already been deployed to the crisis-ridden four communities to protect lives and property.
The Royal Father thanked the IGP for identifying with them in the period of trial while he appealed to police authorities to fortify his domain with enough personnel, calling for an end to the unnecessary killings of innocent
citizens occasioned by constant herdsmen/farmers’ face off.
Some community leaders in Numan who spoke to TVC News commended the IGP for the visit which they said would go a long way to douse tension.
Earlier, the IGP had visited Governor Jibrila Bindow where he also sympathise with him over Mubi bomb blast and Numan crisis.  He told the Governor of his intention to unmask perpetrators of Numan herdsmen/farmers’ crisis.
Bindow commended the IGP for the visit, stressing that government would give him necessary support in tracking perpetrators of the crisis.
