The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has condemned Sun Newspaper for what he called a misleading news headline, and charged his followers to burn down Nigeria if he ever gets re-arrested.

Speaking during a meeting with IPOB faithful in his father's house recently, Kanu condemned the Sun newspaper headline that read "Biafra Leader on the run..." called on his loyalists to disregard reports that he has gone into hiding asserting his fearlessness and resolve to actualise the Biafra nation.

In his words, "I did not mince words when I was incarcerated, how can i be cowed now that i am in my father's compound. Buhari should be the one afraid of me...I will break the Zoo into pieces."

Speaking on his forthcoming court appearance, Kanu said that he is taking 2 million IPOB members to Abuja on October 17, 2017 and commanded his followers to burn Nigeria down any day they wake up to hear he has been re-arrested.

Reacting to the development, Maazi Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo, Publisher and  Anambra gubernatorial candidate under PPA condemned the news headline as "inciting" and called on the Nigerian media to desist from heating up the already heated up polity.

"Why can't the Nigerian media be more responsible? Must they heat up the polity just for the sake of selling their stories?

"The media should play the role of helping the people reorganise themselves and peacefully resolve their problems," Ezeemo said.

Ezeemo drew attention to the tension already heightening in the global scene and called for all to learn to put the sacredness of life first while addressing their issues.
