Anambra community praises govt. over N20m project, endorses Obiano for second tenure

The people of Akpo community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State have endorsed the state governor, Chief Willie Obiano for a second term, saying that they were marveled over his numerous achievements in office.

President General of Akpo Development Association (ADA), Engr. Godwin Ezeno, who disclosed this in a press briefing, explained that Obiano has reached out to the entire populace through various projects including the N20m-Community-Chose-Your Project ongoing across the 177 Anambra communities.

“There are other projects and initiatives like Anam bridge which cut across Nmiata, Iyiola Anam to Aguleri, three flyovers at Awka, renovation of ABS, prompt payment of workers salaries, establishment of oxygen plant at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, construction of roads and maintenance of existing ones” Ezeno added.

According to him, Akpo invested its N20M community chose yourself project on Agriculture through construction of fish ponds, chicken pens and administrative offices to compliment the governor’s agricultural programme.

He said the project would create employment opportunities to their teeming populace, boost food productions and income when completed.

The President General, who was flanked by Secretary General of the union, Dr Nkaa Dim, Nze Leonard Ezeno, the first Vice President, Chief Humphrey Ikebido, PRO to Akpo Igwe-in-council, and others, however, appealed to the governor to consider the community roads and schools as part of the projects to be executed by his government during his second tenure.

“We appreciate him for promoting our son to the rank of Permanent Secretary in the civil service, for giving us 4KVA transformer and other goodies so numerous to mention. We are appealing to him to remember our two roads his government earlier designed as parts of the projects to be executed during his second tenure. Also, our schools need renovation and more teaching staff,” he said.

Ezeno further commended the governor for providing adequate security in the state which he said were instrumental to the administration’s ability to attract both national and foreign investors, and urged other governorship candidates to forgo their ambitions pending when Obiano has concluded his second tenure.

“It is an accepted norm that everyone has a right to aspire to the highest seat of the land. We equally appreciate the fact that some gladiators know that they are mere pretenders. We hereby wish to beg them to support the incumbent government. We want them to be ready to accept defeat in good fate at the end of the election in order to move our state forward. It is not a do or die affair!” he maintained.
