Anambra State House of Assembly opens death register for Hon Mmegbuanaeze

The Anambra State House of Assembly, on Thursday, opened death register for its departed colleague, late Hon Francis Mmegbuanaeze.

The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano and Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly recently commiserated with the people of Idemili North Local Government Area over the sudden death of the lawmaker representing the constituency at state Assembly, late Hon Francis Mmegbuanaeze.

Obiano, who led state executive members to Omagba Phase 2, where the late legislator family lives, described him as a very good man that would be missed by many.

Hon. Francis Mmegbuanaeze joined his ancestors on Tuesday August 15, 2017 at age of 47 after returning from APGA gubernatorial primary that produced Governor Willie Obiano as standard flag bearer of the party.

On her part, Speaker of the 6th Assembly, Rt. Hon Rita Maduagwu said that death of her colleague was a huge loss, and he would surely be missed by many as a result of his sense of humour. Speaker and her colleagues opened a register in the hallow chamber today for members and friends visiting to the house to sign for departed hero.

Although the cause of Mmegbuanaeze’s death has not being officially declared, sources told news8hrs.com that he died of High Blood Pressure.

“He is my close friend. Francis is a graduate of English language, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He is currently studying Law at Chukwuemeka Odumewgu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam. He once told me that he is suffering of HBP.

“He even claimed that his doctor constantly warned him to stop receiving phone calls or attending public function. He left his hospital bed straight to APGA primary on the excuse that he was getting better. But collapsed and died immediately he returned from the event,” the source alleged.

Late Mmegbuanaeze was survived by aged parents, wife, B. N Mmegbuanaeze, five children 3 boys and 2 girls and other relatives.

The author of two books, Chideraa (Igbo Novel ) and Chiebolam (an Igbo Play), earlier served as a two term President General, Eziowelle Improvement Union, two term Vice Chairman ,Nigeria Redcross Society Anambra State chapter, Chairman/Chief-Executive-Officer (CEO) of Mafrank Metal Ltd, Mega Garden Ltd, etc.
