CP, others honour Onitsha Mkt. Chairman over security

Over 500 traders of the Old Motor Car Parts Market, Ugwuagba Obosi, near Onitsha, and the Anambra state Commissioner of police, Mr Sam Okaula, yesterday trouped out and poured encomium on the chairman of the market, Chief Emmanuel Obiagwu,  shortly after being honoured by the Zone Nine Director of Operations,Crime Prevention Campaign of Nigeria, CPCN, Evangelist Francis Nwokike as security Adviser to the zone.
Speaking during the decoration ceremony, Evangelist Nwokike said that "Chief Obiagwu was found worthy to be so honoured because of his role in crime prevention in the market and environs"
According to him "with this honour as Adviser to the zone he is
expected to work harder as he whom much is given much is expected from him"
He described Chief Obiagwu as a crime burster and material for crime prevention.
Contributing, the CP, who was ably represented by the Onitsha police
Area Commander, Mr Abubakar Yahaya, commended the market boss and urged other leaders to emulate him.
The CP said that "security is every body's business and all hands
should be on desk if we are to achieve it as police and other security operatives are not angels, they work based on cooperation of the people"
In his contribution, a chieftain in the market, Chief Gadafi Udoka who
is the Chairman of Lagos line said, "Chief Obiagwu is hard working and
likes cleanliness.
Since he came in as chairman the market is always neat. I have already endorsed him for second tenure if he will agree to come out to contest"
"He is wise and educated and has leadership quality. Police no longer
harass, intimidate us and sieze our wares since he came in as chairman of the market."
In his speech, the Financial secretary, Hon. Chinedu Agu said, "God has been helping us through the chairman to achieve a lot of things"
Responding, Chief Obiagwu pledged not to relent in his effort to move the market forward stating that the honour would spur him to
perform more than he has done.
He thanked all and sundry especially the CPCN for finding him worthy to be so honoured and the CP who he said has also worked tirelessly to avert crime in the state through his sub ordinates that included theAwada Divisional Police Officer, DPO among others.

Highlight of the event was the decoration of Chief Obiagwu by
Evangelist Nwokike who was assisted by the CP through the OnitshaPolice Area Commander.
