A chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC) and Anambra State 2017 governorship aspirant, Chief George Moghalu has urged contestants from Anambra central to step aside, arguing that the poll is meant for only those from the north and south senatorial districts.

According to Moghalu, only the South and North senatorial zones of the state have the moral support to vie for Nov 18, 2017 since the former Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju of southern part of the state had only four years, while the Central had eleven years through Dr Chris Ngige's 34 months and Peter Obi's 8 years.

He made the postulations while addressing APC party leaders at the Wards and Council levels in Orumba North, Aguata, Anambra East and Anambra West councils, adding that his tenure as governor would benefit the North more than what it is tenable in the current administration led by their son, Willie Obiano.

“It is very sad that Anambra north is in a worse situation even though it produced the incumbent governor of the state. There is nowhere anyone who does not perform in four years can perform in twenty years if given opportunity. Therefore, I am calling on you to vote for me because my administration benefit the North more than what it is today”.

The APC National Auditor, while admitting that the forthcoming election will not be easy, hinted that both the party primaries and the main election would present very formidable challenge.

He, however, assured them that he would come out tops at both stages, in order to unleash massive development and transformation in the Anambra landscape.

“Though the road is going to be challenging and tough, I am confident that I will win. I am a man very close to the people. Since I was born, no one has ever filled a visitor’s form to see me. No one has ever called me on the phone or sent text message without me responding.

"I am aware that some sons and daughters of your various communities are also on the race. But I want you to work with me; not for me. We need to be in the project as equal partners. I run an open door policy. I have only one telephone line and it's open to all so that you can call me any time if you have the need to reach me...", the APC guber aspirant emphasized.

While warning them against listening to aspirant who according to him, could tell lies to curry political favour, Moughalu urged voters’ to seek sincerity and support the pillars of APC like himself, whose sweat built the party.
