As 2017 Anambra State Gubernatorial poll draws nearer, Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has vowed to oust the State ruling All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), saying that it remains the only political party with enough resources and absence of internal wrangling.

Speaking while inaugurating the PRP Anambra State Executive in Awka, Patrick Akundili, who is the Chairman of PRP National Convention, alleged that other political parties such as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and APGA have failed Nigerians, Anambra State particularly.

Akundili, who added that other political parties cannot run or win an election in the country without borrowing from banks and godfathers, claimed that his party was founded on a solid rock with able to do founding fathers across the federation, states, local governments and wards, who can freely contribute to the growth of the party with no ulterior motive.

He said, “PDP, APGA, APC have internal crisis but we have none. That is why they have two or more executive members from national down to Ward level. Again, unlike us, these political parties can’t boast of members who can give out without asking for something in return.

“Also, we are the only political party in Nigeria which built national secretariat. Others like APC, PDP, and co are under rented apartments. And we have produced governors, states and national assembly members, entrepreneurs, activists, writers, etc. It is now left for Nigerians to either vote for us to reposition the country, or vote for those who will milk them dry paying bills for their rented properties, accommodations, bank loans, and so on.”

In a welcome speech, the Chairman of the Party, Mathias Aninwachukwu, while assuring the party victory on the forthcoming governorship election, informed them that the state remains a state where power is won based on available logistics.

Earlier speaking, the Anambra State leader of the party, Prince Chijioke Mbanefo re-emphasised his willingness to water ground for the party to realise its dream so as to cushion the effect of change in the country which has almost chained the citizenry.

Orient Daily recalls that among the newly inaugurated executive of PRP in Anambra State were Mathias Aninwachukwu, Chairman; Humphrey Anaso, Deputy Chairman; Emmanuel Anene, Secretary; Pastor Precious Ebele Madu, Women Leader; Eugine Anikpe, Youth Leader; Echezona Okafor, Publicity Secretary; etc.

Also, PRP, which was founded 38 years ago, is currently led by former governor of Kaduna State, Balarabe Musa as National Chairman, even as the party has produced people like Prof. Chinua Achebe as a former Deputy National Vice President, Sen. Uche Chukwumerije as National Chairman in 1983, Abubakar Rimi of Kano State, Dr Edward Ikem Okeke, Abdullahi Aliyu Sumaila, Sen. Shehu Sani an Activist and currently a Senator representing Kaduna North at National Assembly, etc.
