The Nigerian Legion, Anambra State Chapter, elects new officers

The Nigerian Legion, Anambra State Council; comprising retired officers of the Nigerian Army, the Air force and the Navy, has elected a three-man executive to pilot the affairs of the chapter for the next four years.

The newly elected officers were Nwankwo Ifeanyichukwu Joseph (Aburi), Chairman; Nwakamuo Christopher, Vice Chairman; and Malife Godwin, Treasurer.

Speaking on behalf of the new exco, after the election held at Prof. Dora Aakunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, the newly elected chairman, Joseph Nwankwo, pledged to work collectively with his colleagues to lift the legion to an enviable height, even as he assured that he would not let the council down.

Nwankwo further commended the panel which conducted the election for showing good examples that gave way for a very transparent poll, because according to him, with what was seen, no form of petition will arise.

Earlier, the electoral panel, Dr. J.C Alozie, Deputy Director of Veterans Affairs Division, Ministry of Defence, Abuja; and his colleague Mr. Sunday Ajaga (an Assistant Director) congratulated the council for a transparent election, which they claimed to be the most open, free and fair ever supervised, and charged them to work hard in order to lift the image of the council.
