APLSCD Suspends Payment of Members School Fees at Aguata Region

By Okechukwu Onuegbu

The Association of Persons Living with Sickle Cell Disorder (APLSCD) has said that it would henceforth stop its members in Aguata region from benefitting from their various empowerments, including payment of tuition fees amongst other enablers.

According to the APLSCD Coordinator, Aisha Edward, the group’s move was in consonance with the action of an undisclosed prelate and other hypocrites in the religious circle from the zone, who go about blackmailing them to score cheap political gain.

Edward also alleged that the Prelate told her pointblank that “he can’t be coerced to offer charity to any group,” as well as revealed that he was the person who instructed his church leaders across Aguata to enforce some obnoxious laws through which he is inflicting psychological pains on sickle cell sufferers, who are members of the church.

She added that it was unfortunate that the man of God would go to the extent of conniving with politicians to spread false rumours against the group, as well as telling them that he (the prelate) was happy for their “ordeal because the sicklers must suffer for the sins of their parents so that next time their parents will learnt so many lessons.”

These and many other things, Edward revealed were among reasons their destiny helpers were keeping away from them, but that would never deter the group because no sickler is a beggar.

Edward, who described the prelate as a familiar spirit, therefore charged her members in the zone to stop attending the church till the clergy withdraw his evil intention and political statements on them or they face expulsion from their various empowerments programmes.
