Gov. Ugwuanyi Inspects Enugu Prisons over Overflow of Sewage

Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State at Enugu Prisons to inspect the unfortunate incident of overflow of sewage from the septic tank which spilled over to the public drainage system passing through Ogbete Main Market, causing health hazard to the traders in particular and public in general.

Gov. Ugwuanyi frowned at the development and sympathized with the traders and the general public, promising to investigate the cause of the incident and ensure that a lasting solution is provided. The governor queried why the problem was not brought to his notice as the Chief Security Officer of the State for intervention, before it caused the state such health hazard.
Gov. Ugwuanyi equally visited the market to see for himself and feel the pains of the traders who inhale the obnoxious odour of the sewage spillover.

He said that what affects the people of the state affects him, adding that action will start immediately in terms of mitigating the problem to alleviate the sufferings of the traders and the public at large. The governor walked through the market to greet the traders.

It is on record that the governor prior to the visit had ordered the Commissioner for Enugu State Capital Development Authority, Bar. Chidi Aroh to immediately intervene in the matter, which saw to the measures being put in place to remedy the ugly situation.
