Victor Oye is APGA’s God sent—party members

The popular St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, the capital of Anambra State recently turned into a pilgrimage of worth as people from all works of life, different political, religious and ethnic background converged to celebrate with the National Chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Ike Oye, and his wife-Chief Mrs. Mary Oye on Oye’s 60th birthday and 30th years wedding anniversary.
The celebration which began on Thursday (July 14, 2016) with initiation of the celebrants into Ozo title society as “Ozo Chikwadolu”, was graced by so many distinguished personalities including the erstwhile Minister of Information and Communication, Labaran Maku; Former factional National Chairman of APGA, Maxi Okwu; Former APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh; Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano; the Abia 2015 APGA governorship flag-bearer, Dr. Alex Otti; President, Southeast Amalgamated Traders Association (SEAMATA), Okwudili Ezenwankwo; members of NASS, etc.

Speaking at the occasion, the Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke thanked God for the life of Ike Oye, who he described as ‘APGA’s God Sent’, and charged people to support the party as its leadership were endowed with the wisdom and potentials needed to moving Nigeria forward.
Okeke equally advised both intending and young couples to look onto the APGA National Chairman as a mentor so as have a fulfilled home.

Also speaking, Barr. Maxi Okwu, who officially handed over his factional APGA structure to Oye’s leadership, averred that he thought it wise to show his solidarity to the celebrant, due to his various transformation and leadership excellence.

On his part, Ogbueshi Tony Egboka, APGA National Vice Chairman, South South, extolled the newly crowned Ozo Chikwadolu, stressing that the recognition was not unconnected to his humanitarian services and ebullient leadership skills.

According to Egboka, APGA under Victor Oye is awesome having won more seats at both National and State government levels nationwide including ABUJA, inaugurated a peace committee through which some disgruntled party members were welcomed back, and currently hope to win the Edo State 2016 gubernatorial poll amazingly.

To Chief Godson Ezenagu, (Ochendo), the Chairman Board of Directors, Anambra State Housing Development Corporation, the celebrant is a great prophet and warrior whose dint of hard work had endeared him local, national and international recognition, even as he charged Igbos to embrace APGA as it remains the only political party through which they could possess their possessions in Nigeria.

Ezenagu further thanked his party for inaugurating members abroad because according to him, these members will help in making the party great globally.

The immediate past National Chairman of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh in a congratulatory message described his successor’s 60th years on earth and 30th years of successful marriage as a landmark achievement, and prayed God to grant him all he needed to attain greater successes in life.

Similarly, the Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), (formerly Anambra State University), Prof. Fidelis Okafor says he was glad to witness the dual celebration because according to him, Oye has laid a solid foundation for his party, APGA, as well as serves as a pointer to those who wished to have a happy home.

Commending the well wishers, party faithfuls, friends and family, who graced the occasion, Chief Victor Oye said himself and his wife opted to celebrate the wedding anniversary and birthday with fanfare in the understanding that life is worth celebrating.

“On the occasion of my 50th Birthday on July 17, 2006, I promised the huge audience that assembled at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia that my birthday would be bigger than my Golden Jubilee in every ramification despite the oblivious of the transience of life,” Oye hinted.

Earlier, the Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Paulinus Ezeokafor said it was an occasion to thank God and pray for more happy home and fulfillment to the young couple. recalled that the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano had during the initiation of Oye into Ozor title at Amawbia, challenged people of Amawbia to present to the government capable indigenes, who could supervise works on some of the projects he intend to flag off in the community including electricity and road.
