Celebration Galore as MD/CEO of National Light newspaper Marks Two Years in office, Honours 10 exceptional staff

There was a celebration galore at Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation (ANPC)—publisher of National Light newspaper recently as its Managing Director and Editor-in-Chief, Sir Chuka Nnabuife marked his two years of stewardship in the establishment in a grand style.
The event which began with holy mass (church service) officiated by Rev. Fr. Stephen Echezona, featured interactive session (town hall meeting) between the management and staff of the medium, certificate presentation/award of recognition to 5 deserving staffers, even as 5 others were equally recognized.
Speaking at the epoch-making event, Nnabuife, while thanking God for his benevolence within the two years, explained that those honoured distinguished themselves through their industrious output, even as he optimized that tokens being given to them would further motivate them and others to improve on their productivity.

Nnabuife, who recalled the states of ANPC when he took over on 12 July, 2014, however, enumerated some of their recent feat to include rich news contents, internet/online presence, circulation improvement, engagement of more workers in writing and editing, renovation of some departments, revival of moribund printing press, coloured and black/white printing, attraction of personalities and groups partnership, organising events, training and retraining, frequent award presentation to distinguished staff, raising the newspaper’s pages from 24 to 40 pages, and vowed to build Art House and others before his tenure elapse.

On the staff welfare, the MD assured that their internal welfare were intact but implored them to remain patient and hardworking as their external welfare would soon improve as soon as the country’s economy advanced because according to him, the state government love and cared for its civil servants.

When asked some of the incentives they expected from the government, Nnabuife says they may include “reorganizing the management and putting them in right direction, seen the direction of the management, repairing their equipment, building more office complex, etc but is stage by stage”.

Sharing his experience, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Anambra State Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ifesinachi, accompanied by the council’s Secretary, Emmanuel Udegha, charged the staff of ANPC to intensive their efforts towards lifting the outfit to enviable height.

On their parts, the Editor of FIDES newspaper, Comrade Jude Atupulazi; Mr. Awale Ogbuagu from Lagos; the founder of Willie Obiano Support Group , chief Sir Jude Emecheta, etc. urged journalists to maintained that every journalists with positive attitude and believe will achieve great feat in life.

Expressing their gratitude to the celebrant, one of the award winners, Rose Oranye, and Advert manager of the newspaper, Mrs. Ngozi Agusiobo thanked the MD/CEO for the recognition, saying that his workaholic nature always inspired them to be obedient learners.

Earlier in a homily, Fr. Stephen Echezona stressed the need for orderliness and collaboration in all life endeavours.
