Book Presentation: Stakeholders Call for Cultural, Reading Culture Reactivation

Some stakeholders in Anambra State have reiterated the needs for cultural revival and reactivation of proper reading culture amongst the present generation.

Speaking at recent presentation of a book entitled “WHO IS WHO IN ANAMBRA STATE” published by Who is Who Centre and Museum; a non-profit education passionate organisation, award recipients at the occasion, including Hon. Justice P.A.C Obidigwe, the former Chief Judge of Anambra State and state Chairman, Nigeria Red Cross Society; Igwe Martins Eze of Igboukwu town; Hon Chris Azuka, and Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo of Aba Landlords Protection and Development Association urged politicians, governments, philanthropists and individuals to be proactive in tackling educational issues.

Earlier speaking, the group’s Coordinator, Barr Henryking Onyedikachukwu Adibe disclosed that the publication contained profiles/pictures of notable sons and daughters of Anambra State and those married into the state (living and the dead) for humanity to see, feel, and read.

Adibe, who added that the printed document seeks to promote reading culture, value reorientation and celebration of heroes while alive so as to inform them that their feats, sacrifices, achievements, efforts, contributions, and labours are not and shall never be in vain.

“We aim to promote integrity, hardwork, value system, excellence and positive contribution to the community/town, our dear Anambra State, Nigeria and humanity. Our parameters in nominating/selecting those featured in the book include their various contributions to community development, exemplary life style, personal achievement, philanthropic and charitable gestures, selfless services to make the world a better place, etc,” he submitted.

He therefore implored the government and other spirited individuals to assist them in distributing the books to people through subscription, donation or supply to schools and libraries. reports that the book presentation also featured award presentation to great Anambra achievers, and official flagging off of the second edition of Who is Who Annual Essay Competition.
