news48hrs.com exclusively reports that the Anambra state Police Command, has removed the Divisional Police Officer and Divisional Crime Officer  of Okpoko division , in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state for their  alleged complicity in  murder of a 40 year old driver, Nonso  Uchenwoke.

Three other officers of the division who led the operation in which Nonso was killed had been  detained .

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Hosea Harma, disclosed this to newsmen in Awka on Thursday.
He said the DPO and the DCO were removed from their duty post in order to allow free flow of investigation on the matter.

The police boss said the three junior  officers, including a lady were detained at the State Criminal Department  Awka .
The commissioner maintained that if the police officers were found guilty the must be made to face the full wrath of the law.
|” We are not going to shield anybody. Anybody who through his conduct violate the law or veer off from his professional training should be prepared to face the law”, the commissioner.
He condemned the action of the police officers for insisting on arresting the deceased at 9pm in  an assault matter.
"No law says you must not fail to arrest an offender. The policemen should have retreated when the victim resisted arrest, because by insisting to  arrest the victim that night, the officer put his life at risk. He would have been the victim, himself, the CP stated.
He said the command had concluded arrangements to conduct an autopsy on the deceased, adding that all the parties in matter  would be free to bring their independent doctors to observe  the posthumous inquest.
The Civil Liberties Organisation  in the State on Thursday said it would ensure that justice was done in the alleged murder of Nonso Uchenwoke by the Okpoko policemen .

The Legal Secretary of the human rights group, Mr Justice Ijeoma, stated this in a press briefing in Awka, the state capital.
