Anambra Will Be Free of Auto-crash this Yuletide—FRSC

The Assistant Corp Marshal and Commandant, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Academy, Udi, Enugu State, Kenneth Nwegbe has assured road users in Anambra State that there will be no auto in the state throughout the yuletide.

Nwegbe, who spoke to at Awka shortly after the passing-out parade and swearing-in of 200 cadre of Anambra State Traffic Management Agency (ATMA) said his postulation was based on the fact that ATMA were well trained to assist FRSC on traffic control and maintenance at the nooks and crannies of the state.

While thanking the Anambra State government for partnering with them on the training, the Assistant Corp Marshal charged the management team of ATMA to deploy their officers at strategic locations, even as he urged other states yet to inaugurate a road management team to borrow leaf from Anambra, Lagos, Osun, etc.

Also speaking in an interview, Sunday Ajayi, the Sector Commander of FRSC  in Anambra State explained that the command would now concentrate on federal highways while the ATMA channel its energy on feeder roads.

On his part, the Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Engr. Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Ejikeme charged his staff to be proud of their uniform with a view to adequately discharge their duties.
