Anambra People Will Return in Mass this Christmas and New Year—Chief Umeh

By Okechukwu Onuegbu

The immediate past Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Sir Victor Umeh recently turned to prophet as he posited that the 2015 Christmas and New Year festivity would witness mass arrival of people much more than ever witnessed in the state in the past.

According to Umeh, “Anambrarians will return in large number this year than last year because their lives and properties have been secured. Nobody will lose anything. There will be no crime. The crime detective security vehicles, ATMA, and special patrol vehicle teams provided by Governor Willie Obiano will help in decongesting traffics and make road safety this time. The teams will be prying around the state to ensuring free flow of traffics, crime free, driving control…so that both the residents and returnees would enjoy their festivity after which they will return to their respective destinations healthy and sound”

Umeh, who is also the APGA candidate for the forthcoming Anambra Central Senatorial rerun election made this assertion at Neni, the headquarters of Anaocha LGA after the ten communities in the council held their 2015 Christmas and New-Year party, even as he commended the pupils, teachers, the executive and legislative arms of the council, and others who made the celebration remarkable, and pledged for sustenance when elected as senator.

Speaking earlier, the organiser of the party and Anaocha Local Government Chairman, Hon. Ikeobi Ejiofor explained that it was aimed at rekindling the spirit of Christmas and new year.

Orient Daily reports that the event featured dancing, drama presentations on birth of Christ, distribution of education materials and tricycles to schools and community health centres, among other things.
