The Traditional Ruler of Enugwu-ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, HRM Igwe Ralph Ekpe has thrown his full weight behind the struggle for release of the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Founder of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu, stressing that there is no justification for his arrest since he was expressing his views in a democratic system of government.

According to Ekpe, the demonstrating IPOB members are fighting against violation of human rights and the suppression of Igboman by President Buhari’s led administration which has demonstrated ineptitude and sectionalism in the governance of the country.

He added that Buhari’s administration has shown extreme hatred for the Igbo race in its lopsided appointments that according to him, favoured his kinsman the Fulanis, followed by the Yorubas who were rewarded with juicy ministerial and extra ministerial appointments.

The Monarch also faulted the federal government for administering the nation for more than four months before appointing ministers and other acts, even as he classified the act as impeachable but called on the national assembly to call him to order.

“This nation is running a unitary system of government not a true federalism which if truly operational, will not occasion the type of agitations by the MASSOB and the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) calling for justice to prevail in the country. I sympathized with the governors of the south east geopolitical zone who are in a tight corner. I am urging them to give their tacit support to the protesters demand not the other way round”, the Igwe said while calling on President Buhari to rewrite history by listening to the demands of the group for justice and fair play to prevail.
