Anambra Rocks on 12 December as Group plans cultural festival

In a bid to sustain igbo cultural heritage,a group known as ''Maxtron-Pecta Entertainments'' has concluded arrangement to stage her maiden cultural competition on Saturday, 12th December 2015 at Alex Ekwueme Park,Awka.

Flagging off the awareness campaign in Awka,Traditional Ruler of AWKA,Eze Uzu,Gibson Nwosu,urged various cultural troupes that indicated interest to participate in the fiesta to always showcase and promote cultural values of Ndigbo.
According to the Monarch,time had come for Ndigbo to protect their culture and language from going into extinction .
The traditional ruler who was delighted by the performances of dance groups from various parts of the state during the flag off,urged other groups into key into sustained effort to preserve our cultural heritage.
Speaking during the Occasion,the Co-Ordinator of the cultural competition,Elvis Ohanyere,said the event tagged''Anambra Cultural Competition 2015''will feature over 60 cultural dance groups drawn from various communities in the state.
He urged lovers of Igbo culture and tradition to attend the event which he said, was carefully packaged to enrich and promote our cultural heritage for posterity sake.
He added that participating groups stand the chance of winning various prizes ranging from a brand new car,cash and other items,adding that the event was also put together to unite youths through culture in the state.
Highpoint of the event were,cultural displays by Unizik dance group as well as other groups from Awkuzu,Umunnachi,Oraifite,Nawfia and Abagana
