Anambra State Traditional Ruler Laments How Gov. Obiano Starve Them

The Traditional Ruler of Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Dr Martins Eze has alleged that the state government is starving traditional institution.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen shortly after a meeting been held by Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council at the state government, Eze lamented that they are poorly remunerated.

According to the monarch, the sum of N120, 000 monthly salary each traditional ruler receive from the government was too poor to be compared to their numerous functions and duties as head of traditional institution.

Eze added that the IVM Jeep been given to them by the erstwhile administration of Mr Peter Obi was another money sucker under their custody as it takes much resources to service, excluding other cabinet functions and the challenges their subjects made them to address.

He therefore implored Governor Obiano to expedite action towards finding lasting solution to their welfare as that will assist them to effectively discharge their duties.
