The five-day action packed synod was hosted at St. Simon's Anglican Church, Ezinifite, Nnewi South council area of Anambra state, under a theme "I know your Works", and drew participants from the clergy, laity and people from all walks of life .

Reading Presidential Address, the Bishop Diocese of Amichi, Rt. Rev. Ephraim Ikeakor admonished Christians to amend their ways, because according to him, God sees and know the conducts of every man and would also reward each accordingly.

He also advised Governor Willie Obiano to reconsider the idea of branding government projects and structures with the inscription "Willie is Working" stressing that it contradicts the theory of social contract in which elected leaders hold brief for the electorates.

The Bishop further lamented that Anglican faithful of Anambra State extraction have been excluded from governance and charged the governor to ensure equity and justice in the distribution and appointments of resources by extending right hand of fellowship to other Christians while appointing members of his cabinet from people of other denominations other than Roman Catholic alone.

While submitting the reports of the synod to the state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, who is an Anglican faithful, Bishop Ikeakor told him to ensure delivery of it to Gov. Obiano, even as he rejected 1million naira the state government doled-out to the synod, insisting that himself passed such amount let alone the Church.

This was even as Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, a business mogul donated 5 million naira to the synod.
But speaking on the topic entitled "I know your works", the Synod Guest preacher and Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Rev (Dr) Samuel Ezeofor charged worshippers to eschew Laodicean disease, which according to him makes Christians to be neither hot nor cold in the things of God.

Bishop Ezeofor, who read from Rev. 2 & 3, stressed that spiritual lukewarmness of Christians affects the church negatively, thereof forcing them to conform to idolatry, lateness to church, living different ungodly lifestyles, among others.

Governor Willie Obiano represented by his deputy Dr Nkem Okeke urged worshippers to practice what they have learnt at the synod.

While thanking the church for voting for APGA in the last general elections, the governor announced that his administration would continue to partner with the church so long as the state Internally-Generated Revenue increases.

Highpoint of the synod was when Bishop Ikeakor dashed one million naira each to three clergy men---Ven. Godwin Okafor, Ven. Anthony Uchemereole and Rev. Canon Samson Ikedinma to build their individual houses at their hometown respectively.

He also gave his driver Mr. Elijah  Anyaegbu and gateman Mr. Innocent Aneke half a million naira each for the same purpose.
