Anambra State Judicial Workers to Embark on Indefinite Strike on Monday

The Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Anambra State chapter has threatened to embark on indefinite strike on Monday, if the state government fail to comply to their earlier demands.
JUSUN, it would be recalled just returned from strike about too weeks ago.

Although not yet publicized,, who visited the judicial complex on Friday reported that judicial workers were seen in the complex working to and fro discussing the impending industrial action.

Even the newly employed staffers of the establishment, who came for posting to their respective offices, were disappointed, as undisclosed authority announced that their posting which ought to commence on Friday had been shifted for a third time.

One of the newly employed staff, who chose to remain anonymous, told our reporter: “They said they can’t attain to us because the people to announce our postings are in a meeting somewhere with the state government to either resolve the impending strike or strategize towards implementing it fully. That is why they told us to go and return back on first June for posting. My brother this posting is overdue, please I am appealing on them to do something very quickly. I want to work. They said they have employed us. Why not posting us to our area of assignment? I am tired of staying at home.”

Confirming the report of impending strike, the State Chief Registrar, Bar. Mrs. Doris Ezeani, said the have received the notice of JUSUN strike but decision would be taking after today’s meeting.

According to Ezeani, JUSUN was unhappy that till date their April salaries among other emoluments were unpaid, even as the call for financial autonomy as delivered by a federal high court and the MoU signed with the state government since March 22nd 2015 has not been implemented.

She, however, said that the legal luminaries would not be happy to stay at home, been dutifully and ever ready to serve the masses.
