The Leader of  Progressive People’s Alliance (PPA) in Anambra state, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo has urged the electorates to shun violence in the forthcoming polls in the state.

Ezeemo made the call in Umuchu, Aguata Local Government Area of the state on Monday during a courtesy visit on him by PPA gubernatorial candidate of Imo state, Mr. Clement Amadikwa.

He said that good leaders lived by resounding examples devoid of violence while showcasing the endearing quality.

His words: “When you make yourself available to serve others it is imperative that you allow them to confirm your credibility and acceptability without imposing yourself either by way of buying their consciences through inducement or unwholesome acts”.

“Desperate politicians in place of presenting  their manifesto  to the electorates engage them in deceitful politicking, creating friction that results in violence as the game becomes a must win , no that is not the way the game should be  played”, he concluded.

Ezeemo pointed out that seeking political position was not enough to waste lives, smear images of candidates, destroy properties or structures, stressing that politics should be a tool for transformation, social rebirth and economic advancement.

Earlier, Mr. Clement Amadikwa disclosed that he came to pay respect and ask for blessings from the party’s leader as a result of the maturity he displayed during the Anambra State’s Nov. 16, 2013 gubernatorial elections.

He therefore pledged to be play the game by the rule noting that Ezeemo’s words of admonition has instilled the principles of violent free electioneering to his faithful back in his state.
