v Says he has offered qualitative representation

Empowerment items estimated at N100m were recently given out by Hon. Chriscato I. Ameke representing Anambra East and West in the House of Representatives, to over 200 youths in the two council areas.
The items include 50 grinding machines, 20 vulcanizing machines, 120 generating set, 12 wheel chairs, 20 car wash machines, 24 ladies machines, 36 motorcycles, 15 tricycles truck, 20 tricycles machines, over 130 bags of rice and cash donations.
Ameke Explained: “The idea behind this event is to celebrate my victory at the Supreme Court, mark end of the year party and to empower the teaming youths in the constituency’.
The tripartite event which began with a church service at St. Mary’s Catholic Church field Ugwunadagbe, Agurleri was officiated by the priest Christopher Odumegwu emphasized the need for those who are financially and materially blessed to allow the less privileged benefit from them as this he noted will reduce glaring poverty in the society.
He said that Jesus Christ who showed humility the greatest love by dying on the cross has set an example for human beings especially those who are rich to remember the poor and wretched buttressing that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
The priest who took a swipe at politicians who live ostentatious life styles at the expenses of those they represent at various level of government urged them to turn over a new leaf before the wrath of God smacks them. He thanked the federal law maker for finding time to stay together with the people of different classes as well as spending millions of naira in purchasing various items aimed at empowering the youths who he said had remained jobless in the society.
Hon Ameke said he was able to sponsor over 17 bills and had moved many motions in the house. The bills include the bill of urgent importance drawing the attention of the federal government to the Kogi-Aguleri crises, the bill for small and medium scale ancillary programme establishment, the bill to amend the NDDC act to include Anambra state as an oil producing state among other bills.
He said that his active participation in all the legislative matters, perseverance and presentation of himself together with his colleagues to the federal government on the needs of his people facilitated the attraction of 693 million naira for Otuocha Umueze-Anam Kogi Abuja federal Road in 2012 and another 450 million naira in 2014 budget to the same project for continued construction of the road as well as feasibility study with complete design on two irrigation project on 50 hectres of land each for Enugu-Otu in Anambra East and Umueze-Anam in Anambra West local councils in order to enhance agriculture.
The legislator said that within the seven and half years of his presence in the national Assembly, he was able to construct and facilitate several projects to his constituency.
Among them are markets stalls built in Umueri, Enugu Aguleri and Ivite Aguleri, 250 solar energy powered electricity poles installed in 23 wards in the constituency.
An ultra modern civic center built in Aguleri, installed two 300KVA transformers in the constituency, assisted over 12 youths to secure employment in NIMASA, Civil Defence, Airforce, Ministry of environment, erected 35 million naira school blocks for primary and secondary schools in the constituency among other laudable achievements.
Hon Ameke who is the deputy Chairman House Committee on steel development said that during the flood many years ago, which devastated the entire constituency, he quickly moved into action as he donated two engine boats for the evacuation of his people to the hinter land adding that his persuasive move to the national emergency management agency (NEMA) resulted to the agency’s visit and donation of relief materials to the victims in addition to his own personal donation of cash and relief materials to the people.
Recounting his experience throughout the over three years he was dragged to court by his PDP opponent, Hon. Tony Nwoye who fought tooth and nail to remove him from the national Assembly, the legislator pointed out that it was traumatic, excruciating and distracting but noted that at last, he gained victory at the supreme court on December 19, 2014 which according to him supersedes the challenges.
While urging his opponent to embrace him as his brother as well as joining the moving train in the state he also called on the people to support the administration of governor Willie Obiano as he is transforming the state to become the Dubai in Nigeria.
The ceremony was attended by the Anambra state commissioner for housing Lawrence Chinwuba, traditional rulers in the constituency led by the Ezeora the 34th, Eze A.E. Chukwuemeka- Eri, presidents general, stakeholders, APGA members, various associations and dignitaries from all walks of life.
