The group also called on Governors Theodore Orji of Abia, Willie Obiano of Anambra, Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Martin Elechi (Ebonyi) and Rochas Okorocha of Imo states to compel all their state owned electronic media to elongate the airtime often allocate to Igbo programmes (oge ndigbo), as well as to encourage their civil servants, parastatals, ministries and agencies to make the language official medium of communication.
Speaking through its media man, Comrade Arinze Anazodo, Ohanaeze Youth Wing explained that language is a mark of identity and education is best means of sustaining it, else both the race and its speakers would go into oblivion for eternity.
To that effect, Comrade Anazodo, who doubles as Editor-in –Chief of Igboamaka Newspaper, a print medium platform of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, called for frequent hosting of cultural carnivals and exhibitions of Igbo cultural heritage within the geopolitical zone and at Diaspora with a view to keeping it afresh from generation to generation.
They also beckoned on the governors to initiate quiz competitions for pupils and students of Igbo subject, whereby best brains and teachers would be rewarded with awards, scholarships, automatic employment, among other incentives, because according to him, these will endear powerful minds to return to the ancient culture.
In the similar vein, Comrade Anazodo enjoined governments, stakeholders and concerned Igbos to invest on Igboamaka newspaper, as the paper is capable of enabling the zone to perfect most of its myriads of needs including employment opportunities.
