UPP Suspends Chidoka, Ofodile, 2 others

The United Peoples Party, UPP, Anambra State chapter has suspended the former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, Hon Chudi Ofodile, the National Treasurer of UPP, Flint Obiekwe and Nwabueze Anyichie, Deputy National Secretary from the party for anti party activities aimed at undermining the authority of the state executive.

Chidoka and Ofodile are the frontline aspirants of the party out of the four aspirants on the list of the party, and had purchased their expression of interests and nomination forms. They have also been confirmed after the party’s screening earlier in the week.
The state Chairman of the party, Dr. Sylvester Igwilo, who read the suspension, said that the grounds for their indefinite suspension include, breach of article 7 paragraph (B) of the registered constitution of thr UPP, non production and submission of any documentary evidence that he resigned his membership of the PDP.
According to Igwilo, other allegations leveled against them include, “Establishing a group styled Ositadinma , in whatever form or manna and in whatever name in promoting or attaining political objective. Moreso, he opened a page on facebook on July 22nd ,2017, any member who contravenes this provision stands to be expelled from the party. 
“Introducing money politics of inducing members with cash donation which tends to bring the image of the party into disrepute and ridicule. Going to Abuja to deposit illegal sum of N5,000,000.00 (Five million Naira) without the constant and approval of the state executive committee.
“Appearing for a purported screening without the approval and authority of the state executive committee outside the provision in the party constitution (Article 16 d). Anti –Party activities to undermine the state executive authority on party congress”.
The state Executive also accused the two aspirants of branding flouting the Electoral Act, 2010 as amended by using their personal picture to brand their car instead of using party logo, Illegally opening personal campaign offices outside the Party local branches, thereby running a parallel party organization.
The communiqué was signed by the state chairman.
