Mr Godwin Chukwunaenye Ezeemo, Anambra gubernatorial hopeful from Anambra South senatorial zone, has disclosed how the zoning structure favours his candidature going by precedence.

Ezeemo stated this during a resounding welcome by Progressive People's Alliance,PPA faithfuls recently which began at the state capital boundary with Enugu and ended at the PPA party house.

"Mbadinuju was the governor for four years and he was from the South,  you people said he was not governing well,  and when Obinna Uzor who was from the same zone indicated interest to correct it,  the rest of Anambra refused and Ngige and then Peter Obi from Central took over," Ezeemo said.

Ezeemo warned that not following this precedence would stir bad blood across the three senatorial zones in the state.

"PPA is the only healthy party with no cracks and many defectionist members of known parties are collapsing to it," he said, recalling when a significant percentage of APGA faithfuls defected to it led by Maxi Okwu, the embattled APGA National Chairman.

Not less than 20 Awka based veteran journalists evaded Andy Ubah and Rotary International events running simultaneously to attend Ezeemo's grand reception which had the likes of Prof Pita Ejiofor, former UNIZIK vice-chancellor in attendance.

In a related development, Ezeemo said, "I am the last of seven children. I barely knew my father who passed on before I came of age. My mother was very poor but whatever meal she prepared, she made sure it was shared among every single one of us. Any day she forgot my share, my cry would keep her disoriented.

"This is the problem we have in Anambra politics. All these brouhaha about zoning should no longer be an issue. What matters is that we put someone that would make sure that every single aspect of Anambra State gets what is due them, every Anambra inhabitant will be happy.
