The Anambra State former SSG and a frontline gubernatorial aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on the state November 18 poll, Sir Oseloka Henry Obaze has congratulated Senator Ahmed Markafi over his Wednesday victory at the Supreme Court to continue piloting the affairs of PDP.

That was even as Anambra State Social media users have gone to their individual pages and groups on Facebook, Watssapt, Twitter and others to celebrate the victory, boo politicians that left the party amidst the crises, even as they claimed that the judgment has positioned PDP as the major contender on the forthcoming poll.

Obaze, who described the victory as "A win-win for all PDP members,” commended both parties, Markafi and Ali Modu Sherrif, on what he termed their courage in exhaustively addressing the matter through judicial process, pointing out that the outcome and decision would strengthens Nigeria’s democracy.

He said, "The Supreme Court affirmation of Gov. Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi as the indisputable and authentic chairman of PDP, has put a divinities end to the internal squabbles that has adversely affected our dear and great party. We congratulate our Chairman and his Executives.

"This moment and outcome does not call for triumphalism but for regrouping the PDP family; our umbrella is large enough to accommodate us all. We must come together to serve our people and return Nigeria to its place as an inclusive nation,” he added.

Meanwhile, Anambra State Social media users are currently mocking some guber aspirants like Osita Chidoka, Andy Uba, Uche Ekwunife, Tony Nwoye and others, who cross-carpeted to other political parties during the crises, saying that their exit would make it possible for Obaze to easily win the party primary and subsequently replace Gov. Willie Obiano of APGA.

Obaze hails from Ogbaru, a council area in Anambra North zone where Obiano is from, which is also pleading that the state political actors should allow any of their sons or daughter to serve for more four years as governor once that of Obiano ends.

The social media analysts are also positing that the Anambra 2017 election is now for PDP, APGA, and UPP, and may be APC, which according to them is still viewed by many voters as northerners and westerners political party and responsible for Nigeria’s current economic hardship.

Relatively, Nigeria’s ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan has commended the judiciary for helping the former ruling party to resolve its leadership differences.
He said, “I congratulate my political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, on the successful resolution of its leadership crisis by the Supreme Court of Nigeria. I believe in our jurists. We may have issues with some individuals but the Nigerian judiciary deserves our respect and commendation. They have served this country well.
“ Today's verdict is a judgment where there are no winners or losers. It is a verdict that will bring our party together. We should all thank the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. As I congratulate the Ahmed Makarfi led Caretaker Committee, I want to strongly urge them not to see this as a victory of a section of the party, but as a moral victory of constitutionality over arbitrariness.
“Thus, they must take inspiration from General Yakubu Gowon and declare a 'no victor and no vanquished policy'. As a senior member of the party, I hereby call on all those who left the party because of its leadership issues to return to their natural home and build the PDP. The PDP is an inclusive vehicle not an exclusive one.
“We see Nigerians as human beings deserving of the rule of law, separation of powers and a free market economy that provides a level playing ground for all. The party that gave Nigeria the largest economy in Africa is a party whose heart is large enough to find a place for all Nigerians. I thank God for this day of Justice and may God bless Nigeria.”
