Kemi Olunloyo has been released from the Port Harcourt Prisons.

The news was first shared on Twitter by Abuja-based lawyer Kayode Ajulo, and later corroborated by blogger Japhet Omojuwa. And this comes more than 90 days since the daughter of the former governor of Oyo State was remanded in prison custody.

Recall that Ms Olunloyo’s troubles began earlier this year, when the blogger who had gained some notoriety for attacking prominent people, took to her Instagram to share a story she received from an Instagrammer alleging that a popular preacher had been in an amorous
relationship with Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
Neither the preacher nor the actress reacted to the accusation, but Olunloyo later claimed she received threatening calls from the preacher. Shortly after, she announced that she had been whisked away by the police for criminally defaming David Ibiyeomie.

In March, she was granted bail but remained in custody of the Port Harcourt Prison Service for not meeting her bail conditions. In April, she was yet again granted bail of N1million, but remained in custody. Over the weekend, the blogger accused the prison registrar of stalling her release.

Now, she is free, but the conditions of her release are yet to be made public.
