The youths of Ifitedunu, Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State have commended Governor Willie Obiano for appointing their illustrious sons and daughters into some key positions in his government.

These personalities been appointed by the incumbent administrations include the 30-years old Mark Okoye, State Commissioner of Planning, Budget & Development Partners; Victoria Chikwelu, Commissioner for Social Welfare, Children & Women Affairs; and Lawrence Ezeudu, member representing Dunukofia constituency at Anambra state House of Assembly, who is incidentally the Chief Whip of the house.

President of the Ifitedunu Youth Forum, Chukwudi Onuorah, who disclosed this during their visit to the office of the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Willie Obiano on Youth Mobilisation, also extolled the government for providing them with street light which according to him, brings back night life as well as heightened their security.

Onuorah, however, appealed to the governor to remember them on his numerous skills acquisitions and empowerment programmes as they equally have people yearning for self-reliant job opportunities.

He described the governor as a man who always keeps to his words, even as he assured him of the 100 per cent youths support on his second tenure governorship ambition.
“I wonder why people still want to contest for the 2017 gubernatorial poll when our governor is willingly working. We have endorsed him for second tenure and will work to actualise that. We have started campaigning for him at the grassroots. And we shall continue by ensuring that our votes count. This is because apart from appointing our people especially the youngest serving commissioner in Africa, he also gave our monarch important position in the state.

“Also, the N20 million community project he awarded to us has turned our popular Nkwo market from debris to an international market. He inaugurated our youth organisation first in the history of Ifitedunu. This has brought lasting peace to our community. Therefore, we shall support him on 2017 poll,” Onuorah said.

Responding, Tony Uche Ezekwelu, the governor’s SSA on Youth Mobilisation urged the youths to march their words to action through sensitising their colleagues on importance of voters’ card, why to vote and protect their votes at every election.

Ezekwelu, who urged the youth to go ahead inaugurating youth groups across their villages, implored them to be law abiding as the government would not tolerate breach of law and order from anybody or group.

The government aide further charged the youth organisation to make available the curriculum vitae and credentials of their physically challenged persons for automatic employment into the state civil service, which according to him, is ongoing across the state.

“Obiano’s government is all encompassing. So, do not forget to involve your fellow youths who participated in the election but lost out, and others with necessary qualifications and skills. We are engaging all qualified ndi Anambra in the civil service. You should also respect the constituted authorities including your monarch, president general, and vigilantes. You have been certified. Therefore, you can sue and be sued where possible. But always make sure you have exhausted the communal ways of resolving conflicts before resolving to court of law.

“Our government will soon come to train and empower you on agriculture, budgeting, advocacy and engagement, oil and gas, and so on. We are more interested on impacting you with the skills which would enable you to be self reliant and employer of labour. Igbos, especially ndi Anambra prefers to be impacted with skills than to seek for white collar jobs. You can learn welding, vulcanizing, pedicure, fashion design, etc.” Ezekwelu hinted. reports that the former leader, Dunukofia local government legislative council, Olisaemeka Okonkwo; a community leader, Anthony Anibueze, who is the group’s Special Adviser, were in the visit.
