Unbelievable: Anambra Traders Make Incantation for God’s Protection

Thousands of traders under the auspices of Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Products Dealers (AMPPD) yesterday organized a special prayers session at their permanent site in Anambra International Market, Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area, made incantation, pleading to God of Oba land for the progress of   the Association at the permanent site.
The Prayer session which attracted cream of people and thousands of traders from the Association was of its special kind as traders uses  sand and pointed their finger on the ground as the prayers was made  for their special protection, and threw their full weight  behind Govenor Willy Obiano.
Speaking after the prayer, the President of the Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Products Dealers (AMPPD), Mr Uche Ezeh, described the decision of movement to the permanent site by the traders as an innovation made by the Federal Ministry of Health and Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria which ordered that every open drug market in Nigeria shall be sealed by July next year and that became imperative that definitely they must look for a site to deal with new arrangement given them.
According to him, the movement was a welcome development that will help the traders to pilot their affairs and pledged that he would carry all traders along by giving them sense of belonging.

The traditional ruler of Oba, Igwe P.C. Ezenwa, represented by one of his cabinet chief, Chief Hon. Benneth Chibueke, known as Ochendo Oba, identified Oba as land of hope and recalled the monarch citation about the market assuring the traders of their safety as the area will become milk and gold to them.

He urged them to see God as their base, even as he called on them to maintain peace and, also carry themselves along as they strive to ensuring that every trader receive fair share in the market.

“Let you people allow God to continue to be in your midst as Oba Patriotic Union is solidly behind you people, let you people now embrace peace, togetherness and respect the law of the land” he noted.

Earlier in his speech, the member of Board of Trustees, (APGA) Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka eulogized Governor Willie Obiano for his security network, assuring the traders that they are safe in Oba.

According to Ezeonwuka, who said that he has been in Oba for more than 40 years, the traders will have a cause to rejoice in the area, and described Oba as a peaceful area that will help the traders in their daily business activities.
