A Girl of 15 years old without a boyfriend wins 15 Award in Secondary School

as Erosion Menace Threatens Federal Government Girls’ College, Onitsha

By Okechukwu Onuegbu

The Federal Government Girls’ College, Onitsha which is among the 104 Unity Colleges across the country is at the risk of being submerged by erosion if nothing is urgently done to salvage the situation.

The Director and Principal of the college, Mrs. Margaret Enonuya made the observation during the 38th speech and prize giving day of the college held in the school premises yesterday.

Mrs. Enonuya, who disclosed that a fortune has been expended by the school on palliative measures to control the erosion menace, however, lamented that the financial burden of the project was having a huge toll on both the school management and the Parent Teachers Association (PTA) and called on the Anambra state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano to come to their aid .

While admitting that the college management had entered into negotiation with the state government on how best to control the erosion menace, regretted that no feedback has been received by the management .

The College, which used the occasion to reward outstanding students and staff of the institution for their hard-work and dedication to duty eulogized a seventeen year old Miss Chizoba Eziuzor, an outgoing SS III student and former dining hall prefect of the college.

Speaking in an interview, Miss Eziuzor who won about fifteen awards on the fateful day disclosed that she was able to achieve the feat because of absence of intimate male relationship which could have distracted her from her academic excellence and other attributes.

“I was able to accomplish these today because I have no boyfriend which could have distracted my focus from academic excellence and dedication to duty as a prefect”.

She, however, explained that her ambition is to be a motivator of young people and would also love to see herself trotting around the globe in that respect.
