Newspaper Vendors to Embark on Strike Action in Anambra Over Govt Insensitivity

From: Newspaper Distributors and Vendors Association Awka.
To: Nigeria Union of Journalist. (Anambra State Council).
This is to Notify The General Public, Anambra State Government, Nigeria
Union of Journalist, and those in authority of our intention to stop the selling of Newspapers in Awka and its environs.
As a result of incessant harassment of our vendors, seizure of their Newspapers, tables and unbrellas by men of OCHA BRIGADE led By KENNETH OKONKWO .
They insisted that, the Newspaper Vendors should move into Eke Awka market and get a shop and display our products. It is a well known fact that Newspaper Vendors have newsstands along the roads where they display their newspapers and magazines.
This is a regular occurrence of this group, the dangerious part, is that this group are always armed with weapon to chase and brutalised people at will.
We Made a call to Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist Anambra State Council, Comr. EMMANUEL IFESINACHI to know avail.
If some thing is not done within 24 hours, we will embark on a warning STRIKE.
