30 Model Centres Receive Instructional Materials from Anambra State Government

As a part of efforts to alleviating the plights of vulnerable groups in Adult and Non-formal education sector in the state, Anambra State government through its ministry of education has distributed instructional materials to thirty model centres.

The materials which include chalk boards, marker (white) boards, packets of chalks and markers, were donated by different national and international organisations.

Speaking at the occasion, the Acting Executive Secretary/Director, Anambra State Agency for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non forma Education (AANFE), Mr Donatus Nwosu maintained that the training centres help to improve service delivery and encourage learners complete their intended learning skills and knowledge that would assist them to effect decisions in human development.

Nwosu, who praised the giant strides of Anambra State government on education sector, emphasised that 286 model centres currently operate across the six geopolitical zones of the state including the market places, riverline and geographically disadvantaged areas to boasting the morale of Adult and Non formal learners to achieve their set out goals in academic excellence.

On her part, the Permanent Secretary in Anambra State Ministry of Education, Dr. Beatrice Okonkwo advised the beneficiaries to properly utilise the materials on imparting the populace as the state government was not only determined to wipe illiteracy out of the state but to also create wealth for the citizenry through education.
