APGA Is No More Igbo Party—Gov. Obiano

Anambra State Governor and BoT Chairman, All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Chief Willie Obiano has said that the party is no more an Igbo party as they earlier claimed it to be.

Obiano, who spoke at inauguration of the APGA-Anaocha Local Government Area officials, noted that the party has moved from regional to a national party after gaining House of Assembly seats at Taraba (2), Bayelsa (2), Abia (11), Anambra (27), and about 3 House of Representative Seats as well.

He added that they will soon reclaim what he termed their lost gubernatorial mandates at Abia and Nassarawa states, and Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats across the federation at the end of ongoing 2015 election petition tribunal.

Represented by the Anambra State Chairman of APGA, Sir Norbert Obi, the governor further assured party faithful that they would soon take over Aso-rock with a view to effectively championing the true cause of Igbos and Nigeria generally.

He further directed party members to return to their various wards to get new party membership cards signed by the current executive members because according to him, the old party cards bearing its former officials’ names have become illegal.

Also speaking, the Chairman, Anaocha Local Government Area, Hon Ikeobi Ejiofor thanked the party for its support to his administration and how they worked in one voice at 2015 poll, assuring them victory from court.

Ikeobi also charged the new executives to work in tandem with party constitution and in collaboration with party stakeholders at national and state level, even as he stressed the needs for them to embrace both new and old members with love.

Speaking for the newly inaugurated APGA Officials for Anaocha council area, the Chairman, Hon Barr. Ndubuisi Obiadi pledged to run an open door and all inclusive government as exemplified by Gov. Obiano.
Highpoint of the occasion were administering of oath of allegiance and oath of office, as well as presentation of certificates of recognition on some worthy ambassador of the council area.
