Anambra Trains Over 3000 Youths on Science, Agriculture, Strives to Employ other States Jobless Citizens


Anambra State Government has said it is training over 3000 youths across the State and beyond on mechanised agriculture and entrepreneurial skills in science and technology with a view to empowering them to be job creators.

The State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, stated this through his Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment and Mobilisation, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim while declaring open one-day seminar on Youth Empowerment organised by a member of NYSC serving in the state Ministry of Justice, Angela Onyetema.

According to Obiano, the incumbent administration frowns at indolence, joblessness and crimes, hence its resolve to engage the teaming populace, indigenes and non-indigenes alike, on Agriculture, among other useful venture ably captured on his four pillar-enablers.

The governor further disclosed that his government has signed lots of MoU amounting to over N2.2 billion, while thousands of youths are currently undergoing various empowerment programmes at the Science Incubation Institute, Nnewi; and Anambra State College of Agriculture, Mgbakwu; and urged numerous others to key into their key interest in his four pillars enablers such as oil and gas, trade and commerce, agriculture, and industrialization.

On his part, the Hon. Justice of Court of Appeal, Enugu Zone, Justice Emmanuel Akommaye advocated for youths re-orientation, cultivation of good habits, selflessness, compassion and honesty, even as he charged the younger generation to shun tribalism and materialism if they must become useful to the society and their generation.

Speaking earlier, Chief Host of the event, Angela Onyetema disclosed that she was motivated to organize the seminar to rejuvenating the youthful minds through reorientations on how they could use their talents and skills to change the society.
