Police Recovers Cattle Rearer from Kidnap Den at Oyo State

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr Muhammad Katsina, has said that his command had discovered another [post_ad] kidnappers’ den at Oyagbe area in Oyo town.
According to Muhammad, hideout is a deserted hotel whose owner was now in police custody, where some suspects linked with the crime were paraded.
He noted that the state command had equally arrested five suspects in connection with the crime, even as one victim, Husseni Sani, was rescued from the den of the kidnappers.
However, Katsina noted that the kidnappers came from Benin Republic and moved to Kwara before prior to settling at Atiba Local Government Area of Oyo State.
But speaking to newsmen, the owner of the hotel (name withheld by us), alleged that the suspects had approached him for a three-room accommodation for two weeks and paid a deposit of N5,000, as a result he denied having idea that they were kidnappers and that he got to know about their activities when the police came to arrest him.
The victim, Sani, a cattle rearer from Ikoyi Ile in Kajoola Local Government Area, disclosed that he was kidnapped at Ogbomoso during which he was fed on rice for 14 days
Sani added that the kidnappers had demanded N1 million [post_ad]
and threatened to kill him and his elder brother if he was unable to pay.
Earlier speaking to newsmen, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, while commending the police and other security agencies for a swift action in arresting the suspects, enjoined his subjects to always inform the police when they suspect suspicious movements in their environment.
