NIPR Vows to Flush-out Fake Practitioners in Anambra, Organises Free Training for Information officers, PROs

In a bid to reposition her profession, the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Anambra State chapter has said it would embark on massive training and retraining of her officers across all sectors, ministries, agencies and parastatals.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Cosmos Ebebe, who disclosed this today while the body paid courtesy call on the Anambra State Local Government Service Commission (ASLGSC) and the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters at Awka, announced that beneficiaries of the workshop slated to hold on 9th September, 2015 include Information officers at state and Local Government levels, PROs, among others.

He further disclosed that registrations and certifications of both the old and new members would also take place within the training, and enjoined all the private and government institutions making use of PROs under any name to sponsor them for the programme as the agency was determined to flush-out fake practitioners thereafter.

He also added that the body would work with the state government and interested individuals in image making and enhancement of their establishments but laments that it would only be actulised upon censorship of the agency.

In his submission, the state Commissioner for Local Government Area and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Greg Obi averred that the ministry was ready to partner with them as soon as the date for the training is announced.
