Gov. Al-Makura Appoints Journalist, Others in Cabinet

GOVERNOR Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has appointed the former secretary of the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Tukur, as his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

This was contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Hajia Zainab T. Abdulmumin, a copy of which was made available to Sunday Tribune in Lafia, the state capital.
Other appointees were Salisu Mohammed Raj, the senior special assistant to the governor on millennium development goals (MDGs); Yakubu Lamai, senior special assistant on public affairs; Laurence Ada Adari, senior special assistant to the governor; Ibrahim Usman Jibrin, senior special assistant to the governor; Hassan Abari, senior special assistant to the governor, as well as Mohammed Nuhu Sarki, special assistant to the governor, while Nasir Tanko was appointed as private secretary to the governor.
Before his appointment as S.A. on media and publicity, Alhaji Tukur was a member of the state correspondents’ chapel of NUJ, who represented the Blue Print Newspapers in the state.
