NUJ, Imo State Council Fix election On Friday 22nd May

The Imo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ has slated Friday, 22nd of May, 2015 for the council triennial election.
The Chairman of the Council, Chief Sir Innocent Igwe (JP) called on the members to revalidate their membership with the union, adding that no person will be allowed to vote if such a person does not revalidate by paying their professional and practicing fees.

He noted that the election will afford the members another opportunity to elect leaders of their choice who will take the union to greater height.
The chairman of the credentials committee, Elder Lambert Ojukwu posited that the committee will conduct a credible election that will be adjudged free and fair, stressing that only those who have registered will be allowed to vote. He called for the support of the members and charged them to carry the profession with esteem, while urging them to come out en masse to cast their votes.
However, the NUJ chairman, Sir Igwe who is running for a second time revealed that National Leaders, especially the Vice President, Zone C, Deacon Isiguzo with his executive will be on hand to monitor the election, assuring that the election will be one of the best ever conducted.
