Business Mogul Task Anambra State Govt. to Provide incentives to encourage investors

Okey Chris
In a bid to support Governor Willie Obiano’s calls on Industrialists and Captain of Industries of Anambra State extraction to invest home, an Anambra born Ghana-based business mogul, Mr. Elochukwu Gwacham  has implored the state government to encourage investors in the state with some incentives for ” Think Home Philosophy.”
Gwacham, who made the call in an interview with newsmen in Awka, pointed out that incentives like tax waiver would endear the hearts of successful Anambrarians at home and abroad to return home and invest massively with a view to transforming the state to first Dubai in Africa as envisaged by the incumbent administration.
His words: “I lived greater part of my youthful age outside the country and discover that no place like home. Western world survive with taxes paid by the people but they also give back to the people basic amenities to make life meaningful…I support taxation from industrialist and others but if waiver can be given to indigenous investors, it will encourage people who put down their life hard earned money to set up business to recoup because at initial take-off no gains are recorded.”
According to the owner of a four-star hotel, Meloch Hotel, Awka; a subsidiary of Best Western, such incentives would inspire every true citizen of Anambra State to invest home, while hard taxation, inadequate basic amenities and hard policies would scare away intending investors.
Gwacham, while adding that investment in a hotel of International class like his meant huge sum of money starting from its construction, noted that Meloch hotels has over 50 rooms, and absorbed over 60 gradaunds with full Insurance cover to both guests and workers, even as he appealed to the state government to partner with him through provision of considerable tax rate and electricity.
