River state Governor's Wife and Anambra State Governor's wife fights for APGA Ticket in Awka

The wife of the Rivers State governor, Judith Amaechi was sighted in Anambra State to perfect moves to give the ticket of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to her younger brother, Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo who is contesting the party’s primary for Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency ticket against Chief Mike Nkwocha, Onochie Okagbue and Godian Eze.
The mission of the Rivers State governor to the State is not unconnected with rumour making the rounds that the wife of Anambra State governor, Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Obiano is under pressure from the wife of the President to get her husband, governor Willie Obiano and the leadership of the party to stop Mr. Nwankwo from getting the ticket.
According to sources, Rivers State governor held a secret meeting with the leadership of the party where, it was alleged, that the sum of one million US Dollars was bargained.
It was gathered that the meeting agreed the party should insist on using the doctored list of delegates that favoured Mr. Nwankwo for the yet-to-be concluded House of Representatives primary likely to hold Tuesday, December 9, this week.
Primary elections could not hold in Anaocha 1 and Dunukofia local government areas over rejection of use of doctored lists for the primary, and the primary elections for the two areas have been scheduled to hold on Monday, December 8, this week, after the Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency primary will follow.
An impeccable source disclosed that Amaechi’s wife is not uncomfortable with the rejection of the doctored list by Nkwocha, Okagbue and Eze, hence she is hell bent on paying whatever ever amount it requires to get the APGA ticket to her younger brother.
The First Lady of Anambra State, it was gathered, endorsed the candidacy of the Speaker, Princess Chinwe Nwaebili who was given the APGA flag to fly against the serving House of Representatives member, Victor Ogene who is eyeing the APC ticket and has a mileage in influencing the emergence of candidates in APGA.
In the case of Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, the insistence of President’s wife, Dame Patience Jonathan is said to be on card who determining who carries the party’s flag.
It’s not certain if the other three candidates will participate in the inconclusive  primary expected to hold this week over claims of compromise by the party and one of the leading aspirants, Chief Nkwocha is said to have traveled to Abuja weekend.
It was learnt that a plan to sideline the Anambra State Governor’s wife and her husband in the determination of the winner in Anaocha, Njikoka and Dunukofia Federal Constituency is drag Sir Emeka Offor in the fray to give the impression that he endorsed Mr. Nwankwo.
Sir Offor popularly called Sir E, has become the new godfather of Anambra politics as he is the one that takes Governor Obiano and Chief Umeh to see President Jonathan whenever the occasion rises.
It was in deference to this that Sir Offor threw his weight behind the candidature of Engr. Ernest Ndukwe, the former Executive Vice Chairman of Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) as APGA flag bearer in the Anambra South Senatorial race, in preference to Nicholas Ukachukwu and Dr. Okey Udeh, for Deputy governor of the State.
However, Judith Amaechi is said to have failed as, according to source, she was told that the governor’s wife will be her only stumbling block. It was leant that Umeh assured her that the Deputy Governor, who doesn’t like the face of Mr. Nwankwo will be taken care of, but express worry with the stance of an oil magnet, Eze n’Ukpo Kingdom who   does not want Mr. Nwankwo either.
The snag in the entire scenario, according to an observer, is that a well-known godfather and billionaire political investor, Prince Arthur Eze is said to be smiling awaiting the outcome before he pounces on Umeh and his co-travelers.
Sources said Umeh s counting on Sir Offor’s association to help him stave off the President’s  hammer for gong against the wish of the President’s wife to stop Mr. Nwankwo, who is brother-in-law to Governor Amaechi, a political adversary of the Presidency and stumbling block to Dame Patience’s bid to install Amaechi’s successor in Rivers State come 2015.
