Police arraigns two over stealing a truck at Lagos

THE police have arraigned one Saheed Ayinde, 30; and Amoo Olawale, 19; before the Ojokoro Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a Scania truck at the Joke Ayo Alagbado area of Lagos.
The truck, belonging to one Alhaji Mukaila Olarewaju , was reportedly stolen on March 27, 2014 in the Alagbado area.
It was gathered that the two accused persons conspired to steal the truck valued N3.5m.
The accused persons were arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and stealing – offences to which they pleaded not guilty.
The charges read in part, “That you, Saeed Ayinde and Amoo Olawale, on March 27, 2014, at about 9.15pm at Ajoke Ayo Alagbado, Lagos, in the Ikeja Magistarial District, did conspire and steal one Scania truck with number plate, AKD 221 XK, valued N3.5m, property of one Alhaji Mukaila Olarewaju, and thereby committed offences punishable under sections 409 and 278 (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs. T. Akanbi, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N1m each with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned till July, 7.
