Exclusive: Businessman commits suicide in Anambra for testing positive to HIV/AIDS

Nnewi based businessman, Mr. Chinemerem Ihejirika has terminated his life for testing positive to Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, HIV/AIDS, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi, Anambra state.
Late Mr. Ihejirika, a motorcycle parts dealer at Nnewi Main market, reliably gathered, cut off his throat with a knife as a result of testing positive to HIV at NAUTH, Nnewi last week.
According to our sources, the Mbaise Imo State born business tycoon who lives at Otolo Nnewi, was admitted at casualty ward of NAUTH but after the result of diagnosis carried out on him proved positive, he vehemently declared that he would give-up the ghost rather to live and face traumas and agony inherent therein.
The deceased was said to be the only son of his parents.
The sources further revealed that he disappeared from his hospital bed following day and was later found in pool of his bloods with a sharp knife lying beside him at back of central pharmacy owned by one of his relations.
When visited his residence, his wife (name withheld) and other relations around where wearing ugly faces due to the shameful death.
However, all efforts to hear from the Divisional Police officer for Central Police Station and the Otolo Nnewi Police Division, were futile as the law enforcement agents sealed lips on the incident and directed our reporter to state police headquarters at Awka for comment.
