Accident: Reckless sachet water truck driver loses control

Tension as the driver’s of a Sachet Water Company; Olek Table Water owned by A-renowned politician Representing a local government area in the federal house of representative ransacked a private car beyond recognition in Awka, the capital of Anambra state.

Olek Table Water old truck with the plate number XJ474-ENU Enugu ran onto a saloon car with the registration number FST837-BS Lagos around 8pm yesterday along Ekwulobia street, Flora Ilonzo’s avenue, near Senator Chris Ngige (Olde English Hotel), Government Residential Area, Awka.
Although no life lost, the unaffected truck completely damaged the fancy vehicle. who was at the spot when the incident occurred, gathered that the old truck has no headlights, indicator-lights or a horn, yet the 30 years old driver simply identified as Mr. Wisdom drove on a very high speed in a dark environment and residential area.
The owner of disfigured vehicle Mr. Stanley Nwajiaku was driving out of his compound to a nearby football viewing center when his car was hit by the truck.
Mr. Nwajiaku who claimed to base at Switzerland, immediately jumped out of the damaged car, got hold of Wisdom’s neck and vowed to imprison him if he did not replace the vehicle with new one.
He said: “I won’t accept this car again because I have already sold it to someone at the rate of 2 million naira in preparation to travel oversea weekend. I won’t even permit a repair. What I need is new one or a replace of all the damages.”   
However, Mr. Wisdom; a Calabar boy, blamed Satan for the reckless driving and pleaded for forgiveness, but Mr. Stanley refused and forced him to slept in B-Divisional Police station, Awka.
When contacted, Mrs. Amaka, the Manager of Olek Table Water (NAFDAC Reg. no. 01059IL), disowned Mr. Wisdom alleging that he was too stubborn, nonchalant and arrogant.
Her words: “Although he is my driver, I told him to stop supplying pure water with this van whenever is 5pm. But he persisted…his co-workers always complain to me that he turns-deaf ear to my instructions at my absent…”
But when queried why she has not sack the young man, she declined to comment, claiming that Mr. Wisdom has many people at the top including one Odinaka, whom she equally directed him to contact for his safety.
All effort to hear from founder of the water company, an-Anambra House of Reps member proved abortive as he refused to answer his calls.
