Ex-Anambra Guber Candidate launches mini-estate to augument housing problems in the state

In a bid to address the housing problems facing Anambra state, and in line with the drive of Governor Willie Obiano administration to provide adequate and affordable houses for public servants in the state, Dr.Hygers Igwebuike has launched a mini-estate comprising 5 twin 3-storey buildings in Awka known as community settlement .

Dr.Igwebuike who is a  philanthropist and former governorship aspirant in the last gubernatorial elections in the state told newsmen during the launch of the community settlement over the week-end that his venturing into the housing needs of the people was borne out of the necessity of the housing needs in Anambra state.

He said, '' when i came into this state to contest for governorship, i discovered that there is a serious need for accommodation and as a result of that i decided to build this little something here...''  adding that mini-estate was how he intends to address the housing and accommodation problems of the people of Anambra state. He said  that apart from providing houses for the people, he has also constructed some rural roads in the hinterlands, executed rural electrification projects in some villages and communities in Anambra state as well as extended his estates to Lagos and Ogun states respectively .

A former lawmaker who represented Orumba-North state constituency in the Anambra state house of assembly Hon.Uchenna Ogbonna said that the philanthropist has been involved in humanitarian services ranging from his scholarship programmes for the indigent and less-priviledged in the society especially in Orumba-North and South local government areas. Hon.Ogbonna observed that igbos were suffering all over the country because they have not thought it necessary to come home and assist government in developing the state emphasizing that Dr.Hygers was contributing to the development of Anambra state from the point of view of  private  sector involvement .

An indigene of Umuomaku village in Orumba-South where Dr.Hygers hails from, Mr.Cajetan Igwe attested to the fact that the former governorship aspirant helped the poor and needy as well as assisted the church in the entire Orumba and beyond. But for a councilor from Owelle-Ezukala ward 2 in Orumba-South local government area whose name is Onuh John further buttressed the fact that the philanthropist was known for his acts of philanthropy and his ultruistic behaviours as his good deeds were too numerous to mention.
